Im trying to put together a six pack and it seems it is hard to find everything in one package! I can put a kit together my self but the carbs seem to be hard to find so my question is can I mix match the carbs? I found a70 center carb and a 71 outboard I'm not doing a numbers matching car ,just putting a set up together so what's the diff between 70 and 71 ? These carbs are new or slightly used any input would help.

You can mix them and no difference other than the numbers and if it’s an early
70 center carb the bowl vent is different between center early to late carbs.
This does not effect the operation of the carbs.

You can mix and match them excel for the 340’s rear carb that has a distribution tab on the passenger side.

The only difference between the carbs available is is the numbers stamped on the carb and the jetting. Go to Holly.com to get the carbs brand spankin new.
Also! Be sure to be sitting down when you see the prices of them.

I had good experience using a combination of the '70 center carb with '71 end carbs. Although for some reason the all '70 carbs worked better than the '69 carbs or '71's on my OEM A12 aluminum manifold. This was on a drag car. The end carbs need bit of tuning, richen the idle mixture screws slightly.

If your current two are "like new" just spring for a new outer.

You can go to Holley, they still sell these. Here's a link https://www.holley.com/platform/plymouth/road-runner/1970/products/fuel_systems/
It's remarkable what they get for these. They want over $800.00 for the center carb..... It is basically a Holley 2300, the same carb that came on all Ford 302 2bbl's
