Lookin for someone who can tune my car properly. Getting lots of bog. I am not a mechanic and have no chance doing this. Looking for someone with lots of six pack experience. Im in central jersey and will travel some for the right person.

Can you tell us what you have? Stock carbs or Promax modified? Are you able to take them apart yourself? I just went through this myself. Your gonna have alot to do in an afternoon, hopefully that person has all of the separate parts and gaskets that you will need.

Im in Central NJ, Woodbridge. The carbs are stock. Unfortunately Im just not a very mechanical person The car runs fine, starts fine just bogs under hard pedal. Ive owned the car a short period of time and it has not had very much use in years.

if you feather the throttle back during the bog does it straighten out?

Yes it does it will open all carbs and work. Its just the initial bog and you can't stay in the pedal.

There was a mechanic here in Long Valley that favored Mopars, he moved his shop a couple of years ago and I don't know where. Long Valley Auto Body (also favors Mopars) would use him, their number is 908-876-5584. The mechanics name is John they would probably know where he moved to. Everyone would bring their classic cars to him because he understood carburetors.

It sounds like all you need is slightly stiffer springs in the front/back carburetor secondary diaphragms

When the car has not had much use in years then it just needs a little carb cleaner, just spray the throttle shaft on the front carb and rear carb to see if that helps.

I would go with the tall yellow springs in the outboards. To adjust them properly, should have Promax base throttle plates in the outboards. It's probably got a 6.5 power valve in the center carb. Would go to a higher number with that, thinking 10.5 on that. I tried for so long to get rid of the bog that I induced, and kept trying in the wrong way. There are several little things here that I am skipping, but those 2 should things, I would bet will stop his bog.
Having said what worked for me, doesn't mean that it will work for you. Difficult to arm chair quarterback somethings.
