hi everybody...thanx for joining me up . i have a question...does anybody know larry at sled city fiberglass? he took alot of money from me and will not return my attempts to contact him. i know he uses this forum so i thought id see if i could get more info on here. any help would be appreciated.

How long has it been? If more than two weeks like any business call your credit card company and have them put a dispute in for you. But only if you really have given fair time.

sorry for no intro, i am new to this. my name is gary nies, i just retired and have been drag racing my entire life. i have a tube chassis 68 cuda, and a 64 fury which i bracket race.

yes it has been since january 13th. i wrote him a check, which he cashed, and has since avoided the heck out of me. so calling the credit card company wont work. i am to the point of taking extra measures, but thought id give it another try to get him to speak to me...and yes, glassman is his handle here

Gary welcome to FBBO, I hope all works out well, hope your parts arrive soon... Long time drag racer here too, not much recently thou... I've never dealt with Sled City, I do know a few members/people that have, seems like customer service is a little weak at times {allegedly bad at keeping the customer informed or returning calls messages, timely shipping etc.}, but quality is "supposed to be" good to excellent, from some of the stuff I've seen & read about... Weird how something about some of the most talented/artistic/gifted people, being kind of quirky, sometimes a little flaky even {for lack of a better definition, I'm not saying Sled City is like that}, I've dealt with it with different people, in the automotive industry, racing, Body & Paint guys, Fab shops, little one man shows especially & Engine Machinist especially too, never deliver on time... Anyway Good luck, your now a member of a great forum, with a bunch of great guys/members...

So ya, I'd say the customer service skills are weak at best. Oh well, maybe he'll wise up when the lawyers make contact. But back to drag racing... I am racing in the 422 Allstars series if you wanna check out their site. My 64 is pictured on there and a video of last weeks race at MIR. I took runner up

Welcome from Minnesota Gary. When I ordered my hood scoop from Sled City (Dec. 2012) getting a hold of them was difficult and it took a few months to get it (which Larry told me from the beginning it would be 6 weeks so it was longer) but when it came it was a nice piece. Hope your situation works out for you.

This is Sled City , and I would like to respond to this thread. When this order was taken he was informed that we were swamped with orders thanks to the N/ss 64 Dodge that Mopar Muscle was building. I supplied the fiberglass to that car and had a good reveiw and then every 64 Dodge owner started ordering parts for their cars. I told Him that I would try to get his parts out in 6-8 weeks. I am like a lot of businesses and when I close at 5pm on Friday night I open at 9am on Monday. Tonight I went to the office and found that he had called more than 20 times on Saturday and then started at 6 am on Easter Sunday on the Sled City phone number. Then at 8am he started calling my wife on our family phone and harraseing her to get her to wake me up. He sure did control the conversation, enough that I could not get a word in so I hung up on him on this Easter Morning. He called 6 more times and I told him if he called again I would call the authorities. I am 62 years old and just had Pheunomia from 4 weeks ago. I have already sent Gary an email telling him when his special order hand laid fiberglass parts will be shipped. A lot of people think that Sled City is a big company with 100 employees, but it is not. We are a very small business with only 3 employees and over the last 20 years, I have had them make quite a few molds for the 62-68 s/s mopars. We make a lot of mopar owners happy and I will admit that once in a while we get behind and get an angry customer that goes to the internet for revenge. I wish all my happy customes would get on here too. Hope you all had a nice happy Easter.

No way did that happen and I have the best scoops out there on the market and there is even a waranty on them for cracking and blow offs. 100% replacement. Check out your buddies reciept or check stub and it will not have the Sled City name on it.

Your bullshit post about how I harassed you only goes to show that you certainly have been tracking the fact that I have been calling you for more than 13 weeks without ant response. You were too busy to call me back but you weren't too busy to cash my check. And I only called you back multiple times after you threatened to send people to my house. I would have been more than understanding if you would simply communicate. You've informed me that you have not started on my order now after 14 weeks since cashing my check. Do not start the order, give me my money back so this can be resolved

I have no choice but to follow through with the better business bureau and hand this over to my lawyer if your not going to refund my money or communicate in a truthful manner

yup..had your name on it..over a year to get product after he paid...you never did much customer communication, always an excuse as to why scoop was delayed, just like now, crappy construction, scoop was not "uniform"....I can go on and on..but I bet people here get the general idea what kind of rinky-dink company you are running. We are not the first to call you out on this, I'm sure.

I have given up on communication with you and request a refund now 14 weeks after you cashed my check, without delivering the product, nor have you even started on it by your own words. This is the second time that I have replyed to this quote. The other one disappeared. There is no way that I have taken a year to ship a part from Sled City Fiberglass. Anyone saying these things about Sled City is just talking out their ace.
