It's pretty hacked up, dash was chopped up for a custom sheet metal one with aftermarket gauges. Hood - steel is hacked up and somehow a fiberglass a12 scoop is mated on there. Interior is nice new head liner and seats are low back bench. Decoded car came from lynch rd, has a built 383.
it's striped down to metal but all glass is in place. starting to sound like a good project right? well first thing he says he is going to do is take it to the local body shop and for $15-20 the shop is going to do all black and under cat it, all good but what struck me as odd is he said he wanted to resto mod it and put 20" wheels in the back and 16 - 17" in the front. Then I realized he was going to take what someone had tried to make a strip car and instead of restoring it with mild mods he is going to make it look like a chevy. lmao
So he then h tells me if he can find the numbers on the 282 he will be in heaven......I start scratching my head an can't help but wonder why would you care about numbers matching at this point? lmao
I did a quick look at the 383 and some one has taken off the deck stamp and I can't seem to find the block vin sequence either by motor mount or rear by bell housing?? is there anywhere else to look? I looke hard for any stamping of letters or numbers other than the block cast production numbers none other .
I was able to confirm vin to fender tag but no where else on the body.
super77se was kind enough to decode the tag for me.
