1974 Roadrunner, 400/727, ripped to pieces, $7,000

Not a hot year, not the most desirable engine, and screams that you're buying a ton of someone else's problems, but still thinks he'll get what a decent driver is selling for these days.

1974 Roadrunner or Satellite, 318 swapped for a 360, needs lots of work, $6,900

Another example of someone hoping someone else will pay top dollar to make their problems go away.

1974 Plymouth Roadrunner, 318/4-Spd, Owner says "Nice body", $1,200

Owner says mostly complete... except for missing fender, hood, title, drivetrain... just minor stuff. Looking at the front end, either he watches way too much Fast & Loud and buys into that Kaufman "altitude and attitude" BS or the K member is gone too.

1972 Roadrunner, 400/4-Spd, $15,000

Owner claims to have every part needed to complete this car... and if you want to spend weeks sifting through boxes and boxes of unlabeled, unsorted, parts you can find out if he's being honest of if there's a few "odds and ends" missing. This car screams "my life has become a living Hell and I need someone to make my life their's!"

1.) Not a bad looking car. Body and mechanical work looks to be all done or very close to being done; button it up, paint it your favorite high impact color and go cruising. Price wise a touch high, but depending IF it is a #matching factory big block and what other options it has, its not too far out of reason especially if it runs and drives. Deserves a look up close in person.
2.) The paint looked good enough in the pictures and was probably original, the guy probably should have left it. Overall a solid car, but a 318 is a 318, not worth too much. he's about $2000 over what it is worth had he left that paint alone. The guy removed trim...hmm gotta call him up to buy that stuff off of him...
3.)Owner see's 3 Pedals and the 4-speed hump, assumes he has gold. $500+- a few is a fair asking price.
4.) Body looks very solid and needs almost no body work to get it ready for painting. Motor and trans is done, supposedly (lets see receipts!), so that saves anywhere from $2500-$5000. 1/906 400 4-speeds built during an already low production year, combined with a desirable body style then factor in Petty Blue paint job and this is going to be worth some good money in the end. Has relatively few options which hurts its value though and you get parts in boxes.(Better hope he has a good grille) A touch overpriced in the end though it is still worth a good look. If his asking price was $12500 for it we'd all be thinking about taking a look at it. That is still a better car than most of the 68-70 Chargers or E-bodies in that price range.....

Maybe its because I've lived in the Rust Belt my whole life, but anytime I see a rust free car southern car I get warm fuzzy feelings inside because I hear the words bumping around in my brain, No Rust!

We'll southern cars still get rust because of all the moisture but we don't use salts on the road during the winter so it's not as bad on the lower end of the car. But in the south you find good prices, a few years ago i bought my 68 charger rt (matching number 440hp) for 3000 bucks. If you look under the car it looks brand new but the top of the floor is rusted out because of water getting in the car and sitting on the floor. The best rust free cars are out in the southwest but everybody out there wants to much

We have drivers, projects, and restorations, but I think we need a new category called Chinese Model Kits, which are just a whole bunch of parts and no instructions. :)

I don't know what leads these guys to think it's a great idea to strip everything out or off a car, not label or bag anything, and just stick it in boxes for months or a year until they realize they've bitten of more than they can chew and try to unload their nightmare onto someone else. Yes, all of these cars can be brought back to life, but who wants to pay top dollar for a Chinese model kit when they can buy a decent driver for less? I know some guys are gluttons for punishment, but wow... who needs that much pain? :)

Bored? No, just frustrated with these craigslist ads I've been seeing lately. :)
I hear ya.....what gets me is when the ad header doesn't say what the vehicle in question is. I've been looking for a decent reg cab Dakota and these people can't even list it as extended cab or reg or even if it's a long or short box. Some don't even list the year.....

Don't get frustrated Bru, think of them as low cost entertainment.
If you're looking for entertainment, that's cool but it gets me frustrated too when I'm trying to find something and you have to weed through all the idiots. It becomes a big waste of time.

I know what you mean Cranky. I use Craigslist a lot less than I used to just because of all the flakes that misrepresent what they are selling either because they are scammers or they just don't have a clue. It's kind of a crap shoot anymore.

But there was one "just like it" on "Counting Cars" for $40,000..........

"will be really nice when finished"

How about "easy fix".....if it is so easy, why don't YOU do it??????
Okay, that one I can sympathize with. :) I'm trying to sell my son's 3000GT right now, and it has a problem with stalling when cold. I suspect the problem is the air induction hose is leaking like a sieve and is creating vacuum leaks, and it definitely needs replaced. They cost about $40 and take just a few minutes to replace... an easy fix for sure, but I just don't feel like spending another dime or minute on that car. I just want it gone, and if I lose a few bucks to avoid working on it anymore, I'll take the loss.

I can understand that Bru, but for such a small cost and effort, it seems to make sense to do it, especially if fixing it would make it sell quicker and maybe for more money. But I do totally understand being "DONE" with something or someone!

I agree... it would make perfect sense to do it. :) Maybe it's some sort of control thing. That damn car has been demanding parts and work ever since my son bought it, and I've been catering to it, but now I can just tell it to go to Hell. :)

I used to live in Palm Coast, I'd check that one out if I was still there. I like the ones that are in pieces and it says "hard parts already done"
