I'm still using coffee cans and some jugs. But I have about 4 of these containers..
    parts-bins.jpg

drawback to these I have found over the years is that the drawers tend to break & discolor.
Been thinking of trying theses at Harbor Freight..

I still use coffee cans for nuts and bolts. But, I have graduated to mayonnaise and peanut butter jars for all kinds of storage. They're clear with a screw on top' IMG_2004.JPG

I use plastic peanut butter jars. We go through lots of peanut butter, and the big jars are tough and wide mouth.

I think these work the best. I've worked in several fabrication shops that used them. You can label whats in them on the front. Stop by and grab what you need out of each one or take several bins to the work bench when doing a project. They're stackable too. Come in many sizes.

I have been selling off stuff that I've been draggin for years. If I have not used it it i 5 years I don't need it.
During my recent move I stopped by a friends shop, have alot of those! Anyway he came out and saw some machinery and the next thing I knew we were unloading 2 machines!!Then he came over and helped with some of the heavy unloading. Have a large circle of friends and barter our service.
Many of you guys have very large storage areas on your property or farms and I sure envy that!!This new to me garage is $700 a month plus electric:mad:

Last winter I found these bins that are metal...They seem to hold up a lot better than the red plastic ones and they don't get dirty.

They're powder coated and anything that gets on them wipes right back off...

They work good for this small storage and work area in the basement.

I just made shelves out of 3/4" MDF and spaced the vertical supports with openings large enough for
4 bins in each opening...2 high and 2 deep...
