trying to find speedometer gear for 1963 dodge torqueflite. Having trouble finding gears for pre 1966. Any suggestions ? (went from 14" to 15" tires and 410 rear. They say I nead about a 37 tooth gear, but cannot find a vendor that stocks prior to 66.)

the largest pinion for the pre-66 trans was a 21 tooth. they were used in cars with a 3.55 gear or 3.91 geared cars with a .80 ratio reducer. these are very difficult to find. and, any gear ratio lower than a 3.55 will need a ratio reducer. this can be an expensive fix if you want the speedometer to be correct. if it were me i'd do some serious thinking about whether the low rear gears are necessary. if you can move to a taller gear, something 3.55 or taller, it gets easier to make things work.

You might check with Brewers Performance and see what he has or would recommend. I would put my money on them over anyone else. The max wedge cars had the gear reducers on them, but that stuff is hard to find. Best of luck!

Thanks, I actualy just took out 3:55 gears and went to the 4:10, engine and shift kit like the 410s. Will try Brewers

I have not been on for awhile, but I broke down and had a new cable and ratio reducer made. (almost $500) I do have the original cable if anyone is still in need of one let me know.

I remember seeing the early ones being carried by Pat Blais. I think he has an eBay store torque flight patty.... or something like that.... sorry I don't have more than that but I bet a google search would find it.
