Working on a 440 motor and we need to remove the heater hose spigot. What would be the simplest and quickest way to do this? Thanks

Somebody had a post recently on this and recommended putting a dowel rod or piece of pipe in it to keep it from collapsing and you can use vice grips on it. I always managed to mess them up but I've never done it like that, it makes sense

Depending on how long they’ve been in, a small piece of angle iron 1/8 thick with a nut welded to it can be used. If it’s been a long time, some penetrating fluid, or wax will help.
I replace those oem type with stainless that has a hex so I can use a socket to install and remove them.

Use a pipe wrench with solid rod or a punch inside to prevent tube collapse.

This is a good idea and sounds like it would work great. I would probably heat the nipple and the area with a torch before starting just to unsieze the joint a bit.....

Grab a beer and go out to the car....stare at it and say a few cuss words. Finish beer and go inside.

You didn't get it out, but you wouldn't have to begin with...and you saved yourself a lot of aggravation and knuckle-busting.

Thank you all for the suggestions. Good idea to put a dowel or pce of pipe in it so it won't collapse and also stainless steel great idea. Will let you know how we make out.
