Spotweld cutter setup?

I know they sell spotweld cutter setups, but have never seen them for sale anywhere where I can physically see them.
Instead, when I put the new QP on my Dart, I just used a regular drill bit and drilled the spotwelds out.
I explained this to a friend of mine, and he laughed, telling me I created more work than necessary for myself, and to just get myself a spotweld cutter.
However, when asked about spotweld cutters, he mumbled that he got his from some other friend, he didn't know what kind it was, and I "should be able to get them anywhere."

From a bit of research I have done, it seems that Blair makes a good spotweld cutter, but I was wondering if anyone had any hands-on experience using spotweld cutters, had a recommendation on where to pick one up for a good price, and had any tips for using them.

I watched Blair's video, and it looks like they work pretty slick, so before I do the other QP on the Dart, I want to invest in one. I know I'll have use for it on the Coronet, so its worth the money.

Snap on has a good one,so does mac...There,s a bunch on ebay too...Cobalt has one maybe lowes?...

Rotabroach is a good quality cutter, you get what you pay for with any cutting tool. I also have some Blue-Point brad style cutters that work great. As mentioned above they are available from most tool suppliers and body shop suppliers as well as Mac and Snap on. Whatever you buy, don't overheat them, use low rpm and a little cutting oil never hurt if you want to extend the life of the tool.

The blair are nice they take a little getting used 2 if u are strapped 4 cash I ordered 3 of the cheap ebag ones and they work pretty damn decent as well.

Lol...Blair and Rotabroach are the same cutters, I have had a set for more than 15 years, replaced a few cutters and the odd mandrel. One of the best!

Again, I concour........The HF set I tried out once (against my better judgement) ended up in the garbage can within an hour. Y O U G E T W H A T Y O U P A Y F O R ! ! ! !

I have a Rotabroach also. Costly, but more than worth it. I have tried to use bullet drill bits in the past, the Rotabroach is the way to go.

X2! Keep my neighbors in work!!!! Snap-on and Mac dont have factories, they just commission people to make things for them.
I work at a car factory, and we use Blairs for all our re-work. You will need to find a store that caters to body pros, usually an auto paint store. I go into China Freight when I need a good laugh but they do have a few good tools if you know what to look for but it's very few. I visit another hot rod site and no one there ever has a bad word for them but you guys know where to get GOOD tools at!

Blair makes a nice product I use them everyday as a train wreck tech/heavy tech.I also use a 1/8 cut off wheel to grind the welds off the panels to be replaced.A quick tip with blair bits,I use 1/2 drill wich usually runs at lower speeds.Also start the cut slow until you have a groove cut then apply the pressure.good luck

Still havent had the time to get to any paint supply stores or anything, and I can't seem to find anything online. My parents said they'd buy me one as an Xmas gift, so now I've gotta find one. Guess I'll be hitting up some local stores!

Those cutters from HF are ok, use lots of cutting fluid, go slow, and it will cut -- pretty well, if you burn 'em up spinning 'em too fast and no cutting fluid, they will go in the trash can, at $4.95 a pop, that's too much money for me to waste every hour. However, I've moved up to the Matco set which should be here this coming week!

summit sells the blairs,you can order them online.three pack is 15,00 bucks.use some oil and take your time,I just used them to remove a floor and cowl,worked damn good for me.good luck
