Finally got my Edelbrock 4bbl, on a cast iron manifold, tuned and setup to drive nice. Starts and warms up easy, no hesitation, or bog on acceleration.
Only issue I have, is after I shut it off, and it sets for between 20 and 30 minutes, but less than 1 hour, it needs a little pedal to start. Otherwise, it fires up without any throttle.
Could this be a heat soak issue, or fuel boil, and will an insulator plate help?

Might want to check the float settings. It’s a theory of mine (not a fact that I can prove) that it’s best to set the floats a little lower than spec to minimize ethanol fuel expanding due to heat soak and running into the manifold creating a flooded or at least overly rich condition. I don’t know how much lower - FWIW I have 3 Carter AFBs and Edelbrocks on cars and I set the float height 1/32” lower than spec. May be enough or maybe a bit more - at least you won’t have a high float situation and hot soak percolation. I’ve noticed benefits.

If you have clearance under the hood, an insulator will sure help - might even pick up a hp or lb/ft or two in the process due to cooler fuel and more intake volume.

Yes, I did set them floats lower, after watching a few tuning vids on the internet.
