I have a damaged (by rust) outer seat rail from a 73 Charger driver's side bucket seat. My mechanic is handy welding and fabricating, so I would like to buy some steel stock to use. My question is, what gauge of steel do I buy? (what thickness?) Thanks in advance, Greg

Is this the correct forum to ask this question? Nobody knows the steel gauge of the seat rails?

Maybe measure it but I don't think it's that critical.
You do plan on stripping down the seat before welding on it?

Take it to the place you're going to buy from and see what matches a clean area.

Can't be to hard to measure what you have now?

Slightly thicker than washing machine sheet metal.
