STICKER SHOCK!! Converting 68 B Body Auto to manual - NOT!!!

Glad I converted mine in the late 80s. Used hemibox, peddles and junkyard hump. Everything else new for about $1100.

in todays world add another 500 dollars to that total of individual parts for shipping

Even in the 80’s a lot of those parts were hard to source. I got a z bar and clutch fork and linkage from the dealer, but all the other stuff was why I bought a 4 speed Charger. I looked at probably 30 of them that were in as good or better condition, but it seemed even back then that most ‘68-‘70 Chargers were ordered with the automatic.

In the 90's Hemi 4speed $300, Lakewood BS $75, pedals $50, 130 tooth flywheel $100 and clutch P/P $330. Miscellaneous parts $100 to $200. Had driveshaft.

I did an install for a guy. Parts cost him $10k CDN, he just made one phone call for everything new. If you don't want a rusty shifter and a trans that pops out of gear it costs money.

If all i had to do to get what i want is to make a phone call i wouldn't be on forbbodiesonly.com!

I have a complete set up for sale from my 69 gtx everything needed for a 4 speed besides my pedals. Includes driveshaft and cross member

Nice thread Guys!
I would prefer a 4-speed Mopar over an Auto every time!
Back in the 80's and pre internet finding parts was a nightmare...
As my driving days are coming to an end (old age) I will probably go auto now.

That was one of my decisions to sell my 69 Charger 4-speed...
So sad getting bad knees and back strain...:wtf:

I did my 67 plymouth in early 90s, brought eveything from Tony's Mopar. Meet him in English town. 4-speed, shifter, linkage, bell housing,z bar, peddles & hump. I think i paid $6-700.
