Stock steel hood with six pack

Hello. I'm sure this has been asked before but I haven't found the answer. On a 69 road runner, will the six pack fit under the steel stock road runner hood? Thanks in advance Rick

You'll have an extremely tight fit - and I'm not so sure the A12 air cleaner system will fit under that hood. You can get repop fiber glass 6 pack hoods that look really sharp. Cost $$ though.

yes, repop fiber glass 6 pack hood's are strong enough to hinge and use a "fake" or dummy, far corner hood pins:eusa_think:

you'll need a '70-'71 air cleaner. it has about 1" drop base.

Can't find an aftermarket 70 gtx rr lift off 6pack hood. Do they make it? Or do people use the 68/69 hoods?

In your post you said you had a 69 RR? Now you're asking about a 70 lift off. Which is it? The 69 lift off fits the 68 but doesn't fit the 70. The 70 had an entirely different setup with a pop up ram air assembly.

I don't have a 69 RR and I know the 70 has a ram air hood. But I've seen a lot of 70 RRs and GTX's with the lift off 6pack hood.

I've never seen one - so I may be wrong. I was also looking at the originators post. He has a 69 RR.

i don't think they make a 70 lift off. Some people customize the hood and put that scoop on it - or possibly modify the 69 hood to fit.

Yes. I have a 69 RR with a 6 BBL and an air grabber hood even. It all fits like it came form the factory. Well, it did come from the factory, just not in the same car!

Google U S Body Source. They make a fiberglass lift off hood for the 70 GTX/RR/Satty body style. I did a simple search for 70 Roadrunner six pack hood. Several options popped up. I looked at this one and it fits exactly what you're Looking for.
