As has been previously posted the Navy absolutely heard it & reported it to the Coast Guard & the team associated with the submersible... But they didn't want to notify next of kin until there was physical confirmation.... Now the idea it was being used as a distraction? Well 90% of this last few years has been using distractions... So.. Yeah...
