Okay, see the little "tabs" on the plates, next to the red lines/arrows? Are they suppose to go on opposite sides like that, or on the same side? Thanks!!!

And do I need to remove the center thrust button if I have green bearings?

Thanks!

Put both tabs on the same side......on the 'inside' what appears to be a + sign and I like to take the thrust pin out when I use the green bearings. No use leaving it in there to just 'ride' around.

Thanks Cranky.

Anywhere I can read up on how to set up the pinion gear mesh?
Thanks. I have a rebuild kit.

I think the Richmond Gears site has a good write up on doing gears. Many use the pattern method while others use a setup tool which entails something with a dial indicator to check pinion depth. Setting back lash is done with the side adjusters. You can kill a set of gears pretty fast if it's not done right. There are also utube vids on it. Just type in 'ring and pinion set up' in the search.
