Swapping out 8&3/4 for Dana

Years ago I replaced an E body 8 3/4 with a B body 60 and with everything else being the same, the weight difference was 50 lbs but the 60 had a spool vs the 8 3/4 SG. When I did my Dana swap, I had a shop shorten my driveshaft 1 and 1/10 inches and that length worked out fine for me.

Years ago, Steve Magnante did a Dana/8.75 swap at the track. Same day to eliminate variables. Car was .10 quicker with 8.75. Think the car was called the flying anvil, HEMI Dart with Torqueflite. I can't afford enough power to break an 8.75.
