I have a buddy doing a bunch of suspension work on my Coronet and he is suggesting I have him install a sway bar and tells me that there never was on the car, so there are no brackets, etc. Is there a kit available that would include everything to install a sway bar where there was not one before?????

I have a factory sway bar for a 69 if your interested

Thanks Rick, but my issue is that since I never had a say bar before, I do not have any of the brackets, etc....to be honest, I am not exactly sure what I need to install one where there was not one before. That is why I am looking to see if there is some kind of kit. I'll keep your bar in mind while I try and figure out the rest.

Its lower control arms and a sway bar brackets and links im sure i have every piece you need

Addco makes one for b bodies that never had sway bars, you have to drill the front lower C/A's for the links and the k member for the bushing brackets, they make one for the rear as well, drill the frame for the brackets and fab a piece for the links to bolt to the leaf spring/shock perch bracket dealie. Pretty straightforward, they even give you templates to go by.

Been looking at them pretty seriously for Stella since the tire & wheel upgrade, she definitely needs them now..

My buddy that is doing the suspension work has ordered https://www.summitracing.com/parts/sum-720230/overview/year/1969/make/dodge/model/coronet He is working nights right now, so it is hard to get a phone call with him to clarify some of this information. I think he is telling me that if I have a front sway bar that I do not need torsion bars, does that sound correct?

Sorry about that, not being clear that is. You still need torsion bars. The sway bar only helps control the "sway" or "roll" of the car which improves handling. The torsion bars are the actual suspension that the sway bar is helping out. The bar you are looking for is similar if not the same to all the pre 73's I think. 73 and later run through the middle of the k member. My Scamp has the same bar and mounting system. There are tabs welded to the lower control arms for the links to attach to, and two mounts that bolt to the front edge of the K member that the bar runs through bushings. You can fab the control arms or find a set of factory and the front of the k member requires drilling two holes per side. It's a very easy modification. The bushings are readily available and I thought I saw someone who was repopping the mounts for them as well. They tend to get beat up over the years.

Here is a set of 66-69 B body LCA's with the tabs for the links to attach to.

Here is an A body bar with the mounts that attach to the front of the k member. It is the same system for B bodies. This is all if you want factory vs aftermarket.

Thanks guys! I really appreciate the education. I have never messed with much more than idler and pitman arms and tie rod ends. My buddy who is doing the work has built his 69 Charger from the ground up, so he knows what he is doing....it is just that I am not there to see it for myself to get a better understanding.

The ADCO is on mine from previous owner. They are just like the Summit one linked to above. If upgrading to front disc brakes you have to get rear mounted calipers.

Mechanic - quick question - what brake lines did you order for your rear-mounted slider calipers? F/M/J style? Or are they kit parts?
