Anyone here have this done? FCA has been hounding us with a flurry of mail and phone calls.
My sources told me early on that it would pay to wait until bags with the same issue have cleared the Dealer shelves. Dry climate here, I advised my other half to not hit anything. The recall has expanded to now include the passenger side as well. I have zero confidence in my local Dealer and hesitiate to have them tear open a pristine dashboard. 06 Charger and 09 Challenger.

I had the Honda dealer fulfill the recall on our CRV. Can't even tell anything was done. On the other side of the issue setting off a defective air bag can cause frags of metal flying into your body - kind of like an ied.

Yeah, I need to take a few minutes and check my vehicles again against the recall list.

I have an 08 300C that has had that recall for a while. Local dealer told me there are no parts. That has been almost a year now.

I've been delaying getting it done too, mostly for the same reasons as you Dennis. Haven't had any harrassment from FCA though. Car is in storage for the winter anyway, so no hurry here on my part.

I've had both my 06 300 and my 07 Ram recalled for the Air Bags. Both vehicles were supposedly fixed when I took them to the "stealer." No issues yet.

Was that both front bags?

My 281,000 2007 Ram is due. I need to take it in still.
My 2006 Ram airbag worked fine. In Nov 2007 I was hit broadside in San Jose by an illegal trespasser. I deflected from the impact and hit a bollard. From 40mph to zero in a very short time.

I posted the wrong odometer picture. The truck had 33,000 miles at time of impact.
At least the air bags did work. My sunglasses were knocked off but I wasn't even scratched.

I had the Toyota Tundra pickup in and bags changed.
My 2007 Shelby GT500 (200 miles on odometer) needs it done.

I do not know how Takata is still in business?
Bankruptcy has to be around the corner!

With the millions of bags that have to be replaced and the cost involved, how does Takata not go bankrupt?

I don't think they replace the Airbag. I believe they only replace the electo/pyro initiator housing (the explosive device which deploys the air bag). Which has the potential of sending shrapnel into your body at deployment.

I believe the U.S. Government also sued them for like a billion $ or some such number. They're doomed. Gets yours replaced asap.

Takata has a plant near me. It had two parts, Highland industries and Takata. When the airbag problem happened they took all the Takata signs down and you only see the Highland signs now. Yes they did make the airbags here.

I always wear "Starlite" safety glasses when driving. They are light weight inexpensive and come in shades from clear to dark.
I don't like things that blow up. Particular in my face. I'm gun shy from things blowing up around me at work.
Yeah our CRVs are victims of this cluster stuck.
