Temp range possible issue

So the thermostat might not be slowing down the 55gpm water pump enough? I've tried flow restrictors before but had no luck. Didn't make a difference. Took them back out. Only thing I can think of is either a better radiator, more aluminum siding to the left and right in the front of the radiator to direct all air flow through the radiator instead of possibly going around it, or lengthened outer shroud to direct the air more on the engine rather than all over the engine compartment.

Looking at the radiator area the sides of the closure panel are open so at crusing speed less air flow would be going through the radiator so less cooling air. Also fan shrouds should have vent flaps to aid air flow at crusing speeds can't tell if your shrouds have them. A good 16lb radiator cap helps prevent air pockets around cylinder walls also. I run water wetter in mine also it does help a few degrees.

Thanks for the photos!
I might be wrong, but yes, agree thinking it should run a little cooler than it is. Have some good ideas from the guys. I'm out, except wondering what it would do with no thermostat? Just seems not enough air, or coolant flow.
Good luck with it!

So I think I figured it out. Made some cardboard templates and put them on the front sides of the radiator to direct the incoming air more through the radiator. My science experiment worked! Lowered my running outlet temp to a max of 210. Most of the time it ran around 200. Too much air was going around the radiator on both sides. Now to make them out of some aluminum. Maybe even make a lower air dam of some sort. Thanks for the ideas everybody.
