I have been tracing things down and thought the BH connection on the blue ignition wire was the problem. I would have 12.8 volts at battery and could only get 11.1 at the VR. Pulled BH connection apart numerous times and would have battery voltage leaving the BH. Added di=electric grease to all BH connections but always had he 1.5 volt drop at the VR. I finally removed the wire on the resister that goes to the electronic ignition box and now I have battery voltage at the VR. Reconnect the ignition wire and I get the 1.5 volt drop. Any ideas what I may look for now. I thought I had it with the BH connector. I can jumper the field wire on the alternator and will get full output. Brand new Napa 30 amp alternator and new electronic VR. Thanks

Faulty ignition switch?

Recently had problems with Napa stuff. Seems they are trying lower price parts to compete. Not saying that it's bad...but new at Napa isn't what new once was.

Yes, unfortunately a lot of their stuff now comes from China.
