I bought a 1984 CJ7 for a daily driver. A leaky brake cylinder led to replacing pads, shoes, drums, lines, rotors, everything but the junction blocks. Last night I got down to the spindles and they are chewed to ****! So, no work on the GTX lately.

A little fine crocus cloth will do wonders for that spindle...
Yeah, that was my first thought. But, the surface where the bearing seats seems a little worn away. I'm so deep in this project I have no problem replacing a worn out part that everything else rides on.

Looking at that seal surface I would replace it also if available.
Crocus cloth will dress it up for sure if not available, I sure did that many times in the past.

The bearing rides on the inner and outer race not on the spindle. Any movement by the race on the spindle isnt a concern.

I've run spindles on big trucks with a lot uglier damage for a hundreds of thousands of miles without any issues.

If you aren't comfortable change it... but I'd run it.
