I got a tip from someone years ago on painting stuff like this. Cleaned the letters with alcohol and masked using Vaseline and q-tips. Also did my old set of Magnum’s same method. Worked fine for me; just limit the caffeine before doing the masking. Now for me to do a better job removing the wax from them..

Strange as I see black paint in my originals which is why I posted.. interesting thank you for sharing.
It's also strange looking at John's pictures... #5 APPEARS to be black insert as well.

As for the pictures I posted above, the '67 Barracuda are not the same, as I'm currently staring at it. The nose letters on the Formula S are solid (no indents) and polished. The '66 Sat are the same as the '70 with Black recesses.
