The "Words we have never heard of" thread....

While the usufructuary has the right to use the property, they cannot damage or destroy it or dispose of the property.
I thought the usufructuary was where they made Edelbrock heads these days? :D

Try this one....
Ultracrepidarian (n): ”Somebody who gives opinions on subjects they know nothing about.”

I think we have a few of those people here.

I never heard of Juneteenth until a couple of weeks ago. I suspect others will agree.
When X1 was pregnant with my first, she was so worried about her being born on Juneteenth. She showed up on the 18th and X1 was so relieved. At least her birthday is easy to remember but I didn't care one way or the other. Just wanted her to be healthy....

When I was living in Egypt, I became fond of the term "wasta" maybe "wastah" which was used to describe as a noun for a combination of power and influence. If you could walk into the most popular restaurant in the city at their busiest time without a reservation and almost immediately be seated at the best table, you had wasta. If it was a no parking zone and you pull up, get out, walk away, and the cop wishes you a good day, you've got wasta. When you show up at the airport and there's a monstrously long immigration line and someone in uniform appears from nowhere and escorts you through, you've got wasta. I watched one woman who lived in my building stop her SUV in front of the building, get out, leave the door wide open, and head to her apartment leaving it to the building workers to park her car and bring her her packages. No idea who she was, but she obviously had wasta, at least in the little world of our block.
