There has to be a clearer way to delete private messages

Everytime I get a full inbox it's about imposible to delete them The menu that is supposed to be at the bottom of the page doesn't appear on the screen. I'm lost.

For whatever reason, deleting messages on this site is this most convoluted process I’ve ever seen. Talk about over complicating something that should be just a simple swipe or check box. Glad the web designer doesn’t design cars.

Actually it's quite easy. There are windows with options. Do it on a computer or laptop. You can do it on your phone but turn the screen sideways. If you aren't Gold and have pop up ads you may have trouble.

It is not easy at all when experienced posters are having problems. Why can it not be simplified. Post #4 nails it....

...and yet if it were too easy as in just a single swipe - it could be done accidentally, and then all hell would break loose like "Where the hell did my messages all go?"

It's like damned if you do and damned if you don't.

If you accidentally delete the message, you blame Stupid for that, not the system.

I know how to do it, and I maintain my inbox, but that doesn’t change the fact that the process is poorly designed.

You get into the list of all your messages, You click on the ones you want to delete, click on what you want to do with it (choose action), and then click go. Really pretty simple once you do it. I can see why it is designed the way it is. When you click on "Direct messages" a few of the latest ones come up in the box. The software could eliminate a step by listing out all your messages. When that list comes up, a single "delete" button could eliminate the pop up box with the options. But, then you don't get any options. That's perfect in an Apple world but not a program written for a PC.

Stupid has blamed the system too many times. :BangHead:
Or blames us....that said, I haven't deleted any of mine since the last upgrade but if the last update didn't change the way messages are deleted....then I found it not to be all that hard to do. I will admit that it took me a bit to figure it out but once I did, it wasn't hard.

Just went into it and deleted 3 pages worth of messages. Easy peasy. I'm not computer nerd either!

If the system was so well designed, then why are there so many posts and or questions from members asking how to delete messages?

Again, I don’t have any issues deleting, but I agree with many others that the process is not intuitive.
