i finished putting in a new flywheel / clutch in my little s10 by 11am so i figure i'll por 15 my 67 coronet so i can assemble all the parts taking up space in garage. well everything went well had my xl long gloves on and my painters hood but when i got out from under car (i have about 2 foot off ground in garage) i notice por 15 all over my knees and shins from wearing shorts:iamwithstupid: (damn) and of coarse it went thru my cheap t shirt. man ive tried almost everything except terpintine, which i think will work, to get clean. my girl friend scrubbed me for 45 minutes with little kitchen scrub and soapy water all i got was sore skin and a woody :icon_thumright: anybody know what will take off por 15 without my skin:icon_thumright:

Read the can and see what it says.. lol. If it doesn't say anything try kerosene or turpentine, lacquer thinner will work but its real strong.. don't smoke while you do this! Bet we've all done something like this, im not admitting to it though.

Man that stuff is brutal to remove, I had to laugh I did something similar laying on my back in the trunk, not in short though, Lacquer thinner worked well for me...:iamwithstupid:

There's a thread on my old Explorer site. some poor chap got Herculiner on a very sensative part of himself................... I forget what the remedy was though. I'll see if I can dig it up.

OOOCCCCHHHH that's going to sting, man that stuff when it drys will need to be peeled off probably most thinners won't cut that epoxy stuff at all...

The problem with using thinners and other petroleum products is that the skin absorbs them....

Thats the truth, everything absorbs thru the skin and filtered thru the liver..
Ive used thinners to get stuff off and i think about it each time. I think we've all had to do it for something, the stuff hes working with is brutal to get off. Not trying to scare you any, but Cranky is right... Good thing to remember.

Its best to let it wear off. I do things that make me sweat alot. I've had por 15 and paint in some wild places, but it can't stay on over sweat because your putting a layer of water between the stuff and your skin.

The combination of perspiration and natural oil within the skin will not allow it to adhere beyond a week to 10 days (approximately). It's best not to introduce more chemicals to the skin (and your organs via transmittal). Remember, POR-15 is an epoxy--once cured, most other chemicals won't penetrate it. Let it wear off and be more careful next time.
