Tire spin

How many passes have you made with the car? It sounds like maybe more practice will help.

That tire with the worst possible suspension should do way better than 2.2. I would think with launch technique practice alone, you could get to a 1.90 or better.
With this engine that was my first 4 passes, so yes you are correct. These tires are about 5 years old and with the other engine it was 1.9’s, 12.9’s at 105 - 108.
I’m pretty sure with maybe factory rear springs and cal-tracs I could get it to 1.6 and low 11’s.

Has anyone taken out the half leafs in the SS springs?
Would that be an option?

I went to the track a couple of weeks ago and the car was on a pair of 275/60 Mickey street radials, leaving anywhere from 1200 to 1800 rpm, spun out of the hole shifting at 5800 and through the traps at 5700 plus and went a 2.2 60 ft 12.1 quarter at 121 mph with the 3.55 gear.
What kind of suggestions for getting the car the hook up.
It has 20” frt segment super stock spring with cal-tracks with about 3/8” gap between the bar and spring.
With driver about 3750lbs.
From what I've seen you should use monoleaf spring with caltracs. Use a minimum of 3 way adjustable shocks. Ss springs don't work with caltracs.
My GTX was almost 3700lbs. I went high 1.50's 60 ft. , 11.18@ 121 with HD springs, mt et drags and 4500 converter.
