Tire spin

It has the rms rack & pinion frt with ride tec single adjustable frt shocks (which were turned all the way down), it has the comp engineering rear shock but not sure if the setting is right as they are a pain to adjust.

Thanks. I have seen the RMS suspension, but never used one. Was curious if front end was coming up to transfer weigh?
I bought the pricy ($400/each) Viking triple adjustable shocks for the Charger right before Bandimere closed and haven't had a chance to try them / adjust them at the track.
I run the M/T ET Street tires, 4.10:1 Strange S60 with spool, but my suspension is nearly stock, pinion snubber and an extra leaf in the rear spring pack.
With the old cheap KYB shocks, after leaving the light, I had to back off and roll into the throttle. I think my 60' was 1.9's with mid 11's at 120 MPH (at Bandimere)
I was going to change out my 0.960" MP T-bars with factory 318 T-Bars and with the new adjustable shocks try to get my 60' back to at least the 1.7's or better.

We race Cal tracs and radials. First off with the correct shocks a S/S spring will hook you combo. S/S springs are incorrrect for use with Caltracs. They are too stiff, The Cal trac eliminates any need for a stiff front spring segment. Most Cal trac racers use composite single leaf springs. I disagree that a 4.10 will spin worse. A 4.10 will apply more torque to the tire. Once a radial spins you are done. A 3.55 will give it more wheel speed if it breaks loose. Torque plants the tire. The shock controls how fast it is planted. Run of the mill shocks will limit your ability to hook. The first thing you need is slow motion cell phone video from the side at the starting line. You can probably get away with stock front shocks, maybe. But it needs something at least like Rancho, Qa1, or Calvert rears. If you are going to race often it would be wise to invest in even better shocks. My street car (Volare) has dead stock front stuff. Homemade soft leaf springs with QA1 single adjustable rears. With a 4.30 it runs 1.53-1.55 60 ft @11.0. The more power you make the better you can make it hook. Son's car (62 Savoy) with 4.10 and Cal tracs went 1.31/9.62 yesterday on radials.

Like and agree...

Stock eliminator racers are limited to nine inch tires, and they replace em when they slow down a half a tenth. Used nine inch slicks should be easy to find. A take-off slow stock eliminator tire would suit your needs perfectly. All you gotta do is find some.

How old are the tires, what pressure and sufficient burnout?

I got a 1.619 60ft with road race tires, manual trans, 4.56 gears and ss springs.

Gearing is torque multiplication so a numerically higher gear results in more wheel torque.

That's.an impressive 60 ft for a stick shift on road race tires. How quick is the car?

Not crazy fast but a fun street car.

How many passes have you made with the car? It sounds like maybe more practice will help.

That tire with the worst possible suspension should do way better than 2.2. I would think with launch technique practice alone, you could get to a 1.90 or better.

In a dedicated strip car, that mph would be worth around 10.70s. Or quicker.
1.61 is very impressive for a street car with a stick, NOT on drag slicks. Well done.
I think it’s the manual tranny. They seem to be up 2-3 mph over an auto counterpart for the same et. Mopar used to bake that into their drag strip dyno calcs a too.

He’s up almost 30 mph from his 1/8 mph. 23 mph is a more typical number. It’s running hard on the big end.

Thanks guys! BSB67, your car is awesome as well. If you put headers on that thing I'd have to run for my life.

To the OP, basically the same tire as you- mine are P255-60 ET Street-R, 4150lbs, and 3.23. Stock suspension.

1.68 sec. 60’, 11.27 et. It is an automatic though.

Oh I'm not up to date. You're quicker than me already. Very nice!
