To Swap or not to Swap

The cars that I've owned or seen that lost value were cars that were gutted to race. Modifications that were either to costly to undo or to modified beyond what anyone is interested in driving. 2 barrel cars are likely worth more w performance upgrades. It's neat the original drivetrain survived, keep it around and someone can always drop it back in. But most of us are more excited with not 1 two barrel we like 3.:bananadance: Do the 4 speed and enjoy it.

It may actually increase the RESALE (Not resell) value.
But the OP may wish to sale the car later on. :p

4 speed...you won't regret it
True enough. I did this exact swap on a 70 RR many years ago. I never liked the lack of work for my left leg. However, you may get to a point in time when changing gears in traffic becomes a chore.
I saw another member here recently deciding to change back to auto because of age and mobility while driving.

Resale value better or worse....doesn't really come into the equation - especially since you are not hurting a real high-end optioned car to begin with. Let your budget, wallet and invested time projection be the decision makers. A four-speed swap will cost a lot more to complete (to make it look nice as well) than a few mods on the auto trans. :)

x 2 on the traffic hassle. Driving a 4 speed in traffic sucks. I get the whole driving experience thing, but for somebody that grew up on manual transmissions, there is no better driving experience than an auto IMHO.
