How dumb can one be? Well, the comments point out the teenage girl driving was rear-ended during the first moments of the video.

That was pretty dumb for sure. But I was driving through Canton the other day on my lunch break. There are a ton of train crossings, but it’s not real common to have trains at that time of day. So you probably cross empty tracks 500 times for every time there’s a train.

I was approaching the tracks, doing about 30 mph. I didn’t see that the gates were down until the instant I heard the train horn. I was around 100 ft from the crossing. If I hadn’t stopped the train and I would’ve got there at the same time.

It was a typical overcast day. It may have been related to the angle I was approaching, and my sight line, what was in the background.
It kind of shocked me that I didn’t see the gates. I wasn’t distracted, although I may have been daydreaming.

My father is a retired railway engineer. of nearly 30 years

So, I've seen my share of accidents from train collisions. To both vehicles and the human body

It isn't pretty and MOST of the time is very avoidable

I always ALWAYS slow down and look both ways when crossing tracks, guards down or not

The person in the video is an idiot and panicked when panic wasn't necessary

That person should NOT possess a driver's license. If you're THAT dumb, you do not belong behind the wheel of a motor vehicle.
