Transmission Cross member bolts?

Anyone know where I can get the bolts, washers, and correct nuts for the transmission mount (for a 68 Charger). I "lent" my cross member to a friend who moved to Arizona. He finally sent me a replacement sans bolts, washers, nuts. I tried the ones from my 67-69 A Body cross member and the bolts were too big.

If I can remember it's the biggest automotive bolt advanced auto has. When I lost my bolts, I bought some of those and put lock washers on it. It seemed to have worked. haven't had any problems yet. When I get home, i'll find the box and give you the size.

I have the correct bolts and nuts here for the 68 trans removable crossmember where it bolts onto the torsion bar crossmember but they are the large diameter same size as the ones for the 67-69 Dart. If you check the holes in the torsion bar crossmember on your car those larger bolts should fit. It sounds like you have a 70 trans crossmember because the holes in a 70 are smaller than a 68-69 one. Let me know if you need the correct 68 bolts i have them.

They should be 1/2-13's. And grade 5 from a hardware store will do fine. Just put thick flat washers on both sides. Not going to be correct but your tranny won't fall out.

If you cant find any originals, Mega Parts sells the correct ones.

I was surprised that the ones for my 68 Barracuda were too large in diameter. I'll check with these sources and appreciate the help. Little stuff like this gets to be big when you don't have them.

Moparparts: Hold on a sec. My "friend" Ben needed a cross member real fast to finish a 68 or 69 Sport Satellite he sold to someone back east (mod top original with 383). So he "borrowed" mine from the Charger. He then moved to Arizona a few years back. Last year I bugged him for one to replace the cross member he took and he sent me the one with the smaller holes. Is it possible I have the wrong B body one...from a 70 and it won't work for my Charger? I guess I'll have to crawl under the Charger and see what fits. Man, this sucks.

I went ahead and ordered the bolts from Mega Parts. Kind of. They have a "different" way of taking orders. If they fit the car but not the cross member my "friend" sent me, then I have the wrong cross member. I sure wish someone made these things...Thanks for giving me the heads up. I had no idea
