Hello everyone! Getting close to taking my 1969 Road Runner down the road for the 1st time after a 10 year restoration. We started the motor (383) Last week and all went well. typical loose header bolts, some leaks from the valve covers, etc. My knowledge base as it concerns the correct installation of the transmission (three speed on column 727 ) kick down lever is lacking. My question is do any of you have any suggestions as to how to hook up the kick down lever to the carburetor: what position? is the lever attached to a fixed point on the throttle bracket? or is it supposed to "slide" freely. if it slides freely, then how does the lever act to increase transmission pressures while accelerating? I have a holly carb with an adaptor designed for chrysler applications. I wish I could explain it better. My engine bldg er says if you dont get it right you can "burn up" the trans in less than a block! thanks for your responsse. Wild Bill
