Years ago I saw a tool sold by KD for doing them but I just searched around the internet & found nothing....

It basically was a socket that locked on the torsion bar... You still needed a screwdriver to lift the end of the torsion bar out of it's lock hole adjustment...

Personally I have a fairly big (12"?) craftsman screwdriver I ground a notch into years ago that I use... Just did the bars on my Coronet a few days ago, it works very well... Basically on the side of the tip of a flat blade I ground out a half circle so it cradles the bar & locks on so it can't slip... A fancy tool would be nice but I've use this for at least 30 years & never had it slip & hurt me...

Mike, thanks they look spooky can only imagine how much it would hurt to get my figures or whatever caught with the tension they have. But r/t got a good idea. Will work with it and see what happens. Thanks again

Oh crap that's what I don't want. Did it heal up okay. Damn that had to hurt. Can I just heat up the ends and let the heat take the spring out of it.
