Hi does anyone have any info on these pistons? I just picked up a set for my 383 with pins but just wondering about rings and the actual specs, if anyone could help me out tha would be awesome.
Thank you!

Compression height on the piston is listed as 1.891".
Ring pack 5/64 in. x 5/64 in. x 3/16 in

Just check deck when you build it and use a gasket that
will give you at least 040 Clearance on the closed head.

Depends on if and how much the block has been decked.
I always advise checking it when assembling short block.
These are very old parts and often I do not know the
History!

Oh I agree 100%, just a point of reference, there are taller pistons out there & it's already a challenge to build cylinder pressure in a 383 due to the short stroke...

I may be wrong but I believe these could be the stock .030 TRW replacement pistons for the 66 -67 383 4 bbl engine 10:1 compression. Whether I will end up using them will depend on certian factors , I kinda bought the full nos set on a whim (just because I am like that) bur I do have another 383 and I do believe even if I don't use them they still have value... These are hard to come by and definitely can work very well with a little bit of machine work.

If you do the math you'll find that 10-1 C/R rating is "optimistic"...

Probably yup bur I think back in the day that's what I think the higher compression 4bbl was rated at, gonna look more into it after work but I think that is the stock compression height for those pistons in 67.

Pretty sure your correct.... But Chrysler like all the manufacturers was a little loose with their math... You'll probably be around 9-1 which isn't bad... especially because there won't be any quench... Iron heads & no quench 9.3 is about the safe limit so you'll be close with a margin...
