It seems that the Germans are using more station wagons now than years ago. Like we embraced the station wagon in the 1950's.

And I always thought that the Europeans were futuristic on car models.

Are we going to see the SUV, Cross-over, Mini-van usage decrease in the US?

I have not seen many options lately for what I would call a "Station wagon". Mainly just various configurations of SUV. I don't think SUV's are going anywhere in the near future.

EDIT... I did just do a quick search for "Station Wagon" and a bunch came up. That being said,... Does a short, long sports car qualify as a "Station Wagon" when looking at Porsche, BMW, Mercedes, or Volvo??

Seems more like they are just emphasizing the "Sport" in Sport Utility Vehicle!

The station wagon died with the gas crisis and gas guzzlers, but people/families still needed a big car. BUT, Detroit wasn't building so people bought vans and converted them. Then, along came the minivan to the rescue and replaced the SW. And now I don't know what the hell they're called? The more things change, the more they stay the same!

I like wagons
especially 2 dr wagons
I'd like to see them make a comeback here, too...
I don't have the need for one (anymore), but I still like them

I do like the Durango's & Grand Cherokee's
'sort of' a SUV/Wagon hybrid
especially the SRT, Hemi versions

The modern SUV is simply a station wagon on a truck platform.

The CUV is a wagon on a FWD platform.

Simple.

Mini van is different as there is a pass-through walkway from front to back.

Americans finally figured out that what they really need is a station wagon, after decades of shunning them and poking fun.

I would like to see the latest Challenger as a 2 door SW.
I could be persuaded to buy one.
