valve cover torque

does anyone know what valve cover bolts on a 73 charger should be torqued to and if there is any particular order?

ive heard 80 in.lbs. but i just want to confirm

Yup, 80 should do it....and tighten it down evenly. I like to start at the bottom edge.

I do mine in 10ft lbs but I don't have stock valve covers.

If you're using cork gaskets, be really careful because you can easily overtighten them. Also too, after a few heat cycles, go back over them and retorque them.

okay situation. i have mopar valve covers but they do not have a pcv or breather port on them. they are just the standard covers, can these be drilled into them? or do i need to buy new ones...

Yes you can with a hole saw you might need to get baffles to add on the inside of the vc

they have punch holes for both pcv and breather..oops.

does just the breather need a baffle or does the pcv need one too?

Both. Stops rockers from tossing oil up into the breather.
