I got “malaise” for my Magnum, and stuck a little “R” sticker between the E and A on my Illinois Expanded Antique plate to make it read “Malaise Era”. I’ve had a few second thoughts about my choice, as it seems a lot of people, even car guys, aren’t familiar with the malaise era of cars and wonder why the car makes me sad!

My family have owned several vanity plates over the years, pride in ownership.

I owned the plates 'V8HEMI' for many years over here.....sold them for 5 times what I paid for them in 1989.

They were on a Toymota for many years, until a guy with a V8 Jeep bought them about 10 years ago. :)
Friend paid $500 20 years ago for this plate. Oh plus $200 for DMV paper work. Guy name was Henry E Mic$$$$.

Posted my plate earlier (#67) - state charges $108 a year for it now. WI still requires a front plate despite some calls to drop it saving a million a year; but I've nixed the front plate for years putting on various name plates over the years to change it up a bit.
