The City of LA bought fleet 67-70 4-door Valliant's for light duty field work: Permit inspectors, field engineering, etc.

Might have came from a government auctions. When I see same model/trim cars in old movies I get the sense they came from the same source.

I imagine they were cheap, reliable and easy to maintain.

I remember a small car dealer near the corner of Rodeo Dr in Beverly Hills that had those for sale new. Right next to the American Savings & Loan bank my mom would go to.

I think the ones I saw were the later one based of the smaller G-Body Pontiac Gran Prix's.
