The lights on that Valiant look like a huge Top Hat on a teenager.
 
I imagine they were cheap, reliable and easy to maintain.
I love the YouTube channel Car Chase Wonderland 2. They have segments from all sorts of TV shows and movies.

Night Shift, Movie, 1982​


I remember a small car dealer near the corner of Rodeo Dr in Beverly Hills that had those for sale new. Right next to the American Savings & Loan bank my mom would go to.

I think the ones I saw were the later one based of the smaller G-Body Pontiac Gran Prix's.
