A little glad and a little sad all in one. Sold it to a member here. I prefer to keep his name / user ID to myself and let him decide to announce himself,,,if he so desires.

But I think its going to a good home and will get driven a lot more than I did.
Im now at one keeper car. And good odds are it will remain that way. Retirement is eminent and keeping up with multiple cars didn't sound like a good long term plan.

Yup no need for a 4 door.
Kidding, looks like a sad day.

@gtx6970
Congrats on the sale &
I'm sorry for your loss, all in the same thread/sentence

I completely understand too

there's always a reason, sometimes a good reason why we sell

I hope the car get used a lot...

Yeah, tough to see a good car on its way elsewhere, been there many times through the years. However, on the contrary, retirement is a GREAT time to work and play with the toys. More time to do so !

think its going to a good home
My condolences, looks like a sweet car. Yeah, my wish for the one I have put my BS&T’s in one day it will go to someone who likes it as much as I do. Nobody in the family wants it.

Admit, I regret two rides in particular I let go eons ago; but I’m one to not let it go easy as others can. Well part of the regret for one car (ultra-rare GTO vert) was selling it in mint shape to a dipshit in town who destroyed it. Got to see it progress every time I’d spot it in town. One fender caved, then the rear, and so on. One time I saw it parked at a mall and had to stop to take a closer look. His girlfriend was sitting in it with her feet on the dash, just a trash can inside too. Only satisfaction was when the POS came walking back, I said WTF have you done to my car? He replied ‘Ain’t your car anymore.’ Gave him a few words what I thought of him hoping he’d get at least embarrassed. Longer story.

Swore I’d never sell a cherished ride to anyone within a 100 miles, so I would never see it again. Well, another one I sold years later was to an old guy 60 miles away who I could tell loved the car. Live & learn.

Other hand, I’m full up with the one I have and age tells me I’m not doing anymore major restos. I’ll either sell it before I drop or realize doesn’t matter WTF happens when I’m dead.

I'm there with you. Time to downsize.

There is zero chance I'll see this one around town
As It's headed to the other side of the planet.

My other one is going no where.
As both My daughters have already layed claim to it.

And I'm OK with that.

Once retirement is settled in.
I ' MIGHT' look for another one. Maybe even a light project car . But ... Ideally either a 66 or 67 Satellite or
Belvedere II convertible.

The PO of my Satellite, who lives about 45 miles away literally made me promise never to come back and show him the car.

Buy that blue 67 GTX convertible that's for sale on here.

Believe me, I gave it some thought. As IMO that car is about one option away from perfection, it needs factory air.
But deep down I think I want to stay at just the one for now, at least for a while.
We will see in a year or so down the road. I have some house projects I want to do and to picky and cheap to pay someone else to do what I know I can do myself.

Either way ,,,But I believe that car is sale pending at the moment.

That was my car!!! Sold it to gtx6970 a year ago last month as I am no longer in the hobby. He finished up some areas I didn't get to and improved it. He has kept me in the loop for a long time since and I also have been in touch with the New owner down under in Kiwi land. Kiwigtx knows the new owner. I am also saddened to see it head there but it is what it is and when one sells an item to another, it then becomes really just a fond memory of which I have many. Thanks, Bill for all the updates and news as it was a real pleasure to meet you and doing our deal as well as watch yours unfold. That is why FBBO is a tight-knit, close family of MOPAR lovers...Enjoy the Ride Daffy!!! (My nickname for it when I owned it) You will always be with me in pics and spirit...cr8crshr/Bill:(:(:(:usflag::usflag::usflag:

Lol, wish my daughters had any interest in my old ride. My youngest likes old vettes, the ‘curvy’ ones like the ’68 model gen. I had one a ’73 before she was born and she saw old photos of it asking why I didn’t keep it. When my oldest was born, found it to be lacking seats and the thrill of a vette wore off (at least with the one I had). Sold it to fund my 1st restoration with my dad.

Had thoughts of buying another old car for something different; but the ’63 I’ve had since ’94 doing a full-on restoration around five years ago, has become part of my soul. I’m sure you and anyone having torn apart a car to nothing and put it back together knows. Yeah, plenty of other mopars I have some better likes for including the one I had back when (’70 Cuda BB vert 4-spd) are worth more than gold. So looks like the ’63 will be it for me. I’ve made it (mostly) just the way I want it; still kicking around if I want to continue. Too damn many other projects take my mind away from it...even being retired.

looks like an easy build compared to most
I like that car.

BUT, its just not in the cards this year. I want to retire and take it easy for a bit. Plus have the aforementioned house projects to attend to first
Taking on a full blown resto project is not in my wheelhouse anymore. And I have a feeling that car would end up taking a couple years of my life that I simply dont want to give up at this stage. Had the paint been better I would have given it more thought. As everything else I can do in house . But then again, if it didnt need paint, it would be much higher dollar amount.

I've spent all day today just cleaning the black one in prep for a show tomorrow. Anyone who has had a black car can attest. It has its days its not fun. Luckily. I lives indoors for the most part so its not exposed to many contaminents. But dang it can be a full time job keeping it clean
I still will probably have someone go over it professionally this winter / next spring.

I understand the parting pains all too well. That’s why I still own the same 4 old muscle cars I’ve bought over the last 35 years - I can’t part with any of them. Hell, I’m having pains letting my hand-me-down from the wife, Toyota Highlander go for a new RAM for a daily driver. But it gives me plenty to do in retirement. I’m sure that 66 Satellite is going to give someone a lot of fun. It looked like a nice car.

As the owner, I put countless hours and effort into bringing it back from when I first got it. Lots of research and parts hunting to make it correct for when and if I had bought it in 1966. GTX6970 did some outstanding finishing on it that I just couldn't get to as the ol' aging BOD wasn't able to cope anymore. The new owner is getting a fine runner and will have countless hours of cruising enjoyment...cr8crshr/Bill:thumbsup::thumbsup::thumbsup: :usflag: :usflag: :usflag:
