Seriously speaking, that's probably a whole bunch of dream bidders taking the auction for a joyride. Roadkill fans may note that David Freiburger got north of $40k for the Roadkill "Muscle Truck" on eBay; in a recent Roadkill Extra Q&A, he noted that all the top bids were fakers who wanted to say they bid on it.
In fact, the only time I ever tried to sell a parts car on eBay ('72 Mustang Mach 1 for $1k), the only bid I ever got on it was from someone who - it turned out - couldn't keep their teenager off the computer. Would have been nice had they let me know before the auction ended - had to sit around for a week and four days to nail them as a non-paying bidder.
