What happened to Pabster

Hmmm, there was a reason I was against a "political" forum here. I tried it over on the A site and it could be a bloodbath. You take something that makes us all friends and brothers (our love of Mopars) then you add in something that can immediately polarize people and opinions, what do you expect? If you folks surmise that his feelings have been hurt, then I can only infer that there was a less than an intelligent exchange of thoughts and ideas. If indeed he has left because of this, then we have all lost a valued member.

You all know that there is a difference between expressing an opinion and inflicting one?

I find your statement rather insulting to Pabster, and I'll express my outrage on his behalf. Pabs always gave as good as he got, and I can assure you he's not some thin-skinned winnie who's going to pout in the digital corner because someone insulted him or his party of choice.

We all have Gasolene running through are blood on this forum....I have a fairly diverse group of friends & for the most part we agree on most things. And Most are Obama supporters.......

People get worked up over politics, even on the fine points, because politics forms battle lines of high principle between Democrats & Republicans & liberals.

When Debating politics,People have lost sight of the purpose of debating... The point is to exchange ideas. The More people get informed on the issues & take a stance.We fight for what we believe is best, because we love our families, & our country.

People are allowed to be passionate about their political views .But we can do so in a manner which allows for human decency and decorum. I miss reasonable, factual, respectful political debate. If you call what we have in the U.S a political discussion, you'd be wrong, it's gone from hard facts to just plain old name calling.

This is what happens when the people do not take responsibility to educate themselves and insist on sensible, reasonable fiscal policies to protect their own interests.

Pabster is a grown man & has shown he can play with his big pants on..If he has left FBBO over Political debate. That is his choice & his loss. I wish him well........

Believe me "he could dish it out with the best", I just wonder where he went, it is just an observation, I don't know if the "political forum" was a result of not posting much or possibly leaving the board all together, many people come & go, he maybe "just too busy with his medical supply business in S.F." or his family or something else, it's just my curiosity getting the best of me, it's not a debate on whether or not the political forum is a good or bad thing, personally I think it's a great place to vent, have political discussions & keep the political rhetoric ****, off the main discussion boards.... This post is to find out if anyone has heard from him, not a damn political forum debate, we have a forum for that...

For Bruzilla, I'll kindly ask you to back your wagon up there. I was not the one to imply that he had left because of the political forum. That was already thrown out there before my post. You can be insulted and outraged all you want, I was merely pointing out my experience and observation from the FABO board.

I made no comment to Pabsters character and in fact have enjoyed and valued his input here. I would apologize, but your misreading and interpretation of my post is not my problem.

I myself have no inclination, to ever go back again, to my home land/linage country Germany, most my family left in the mid 1840's & some in or before & after WWI, settled in St. Louis area, also Oregon, Klamath Falls Ca. & Berkley Ca., I'm truly glad I'm an American, just of German decsent now...LOL... P.S. by the way the Raiders have really sucked ***, while you were in Europe...LOL...

Aw, you guys missed me! Seriously, y'all on this board are a class act- most of the time. While I was far away in Italia, I missed my car and all you guys to obsess over it with. Can you believe I haven't had time to even fire up the Charger, much less drive it in the 4 days I've been home? Darn kids... why can't a toddler change and feed herself while I go out for a cruise?

And yes, the Raiders have SUCKED this season, but I'll still go to the games since I paid for the seats...

As far as the political forum goes, I didn't miss it quite so much.

Thanks for your input, but my wagon stands where it is. My issue was more with your view on political discussion more than anything else. You are obviously squeemish about forum discussion where people tend to disagree rather than harmonize, such as with political discussions. I get that. You want the forum to be about love, friendliness, and brotherhood, and I get that too.

I also get that you feel it's better to block the exchange of ideas and expression that you personally don't feel comfortable with, which is why you were opposed to the political forum. I also get this is why you immediately "surmised" and "inferred" as to the reason Pabster wasn't posting and concluded "I can only infer that there was a less than an intelligent exchange of thoughts and ideas. If indeed he has left because of this, then we have all lost a valued member." This was why I wrote what I did. Unlike you, I knew better than to come to that conclusion.

So, I would request that you kindly back your own wagon up and stop projecting your own biases on other people. We need more people discussing politics, not fewer, and if you feel squeemish about that, feel free to avoid the political forum.
