What makes a “Firm Feel” box?

I have a stage 3 Firm Feel box in my 69 and I hate it. I picked it up from a buddy a while back because I needed a box. Whatever they do to alter the level of assist, I’m wondering if it can be undone. It’s not at all hard to steer, I just don’t like it. I’ve driven with it long enough, I miss that “one finger” Chrysler steering. I searched around for a stock box, but can’t find any around here (Phoenix), and I don’t trust parts store reman junk. Any ideas?
I don't see that you placed a Parts wanted ad here for a stock box. Someone has on setting on a shelf.

I think some of you guys are either missing the point or not comprehending what I’m saying. The car isn’t at all hard to steer. I’ve run bottom 11 second big block steeet cars with no power steering, no power brakes, and 4 wheel drums. If the car has to have power steering, it should have factory feeling Chrysler power steering. My mindset is; if you want handling and firmer steering, buy a late model car. There is absolutely nothing with the steering and suspension Chrysler developed for these cars. That’s what I’m after. I can easily palm the wheel as it is. I just don’t like the feel.
If you want handling buy a late model car?? My RR has the stage 3 firm feel box and it handles very well. I really enjoy showing up sports cars in the twisties.
If you want the stock box, go for it. I dumped mine ASAP, as it gave no feedback through the wheel, and just seemed way to overpowered.

That’s exactly what I’m after. Again, I love the steering and suspension as it was designed by Chrysler. I’m more into straight line performance on a drag strip, than I am trying to make a 4000lb B-body “handle” (not that it can’t be done). I have ZERO interest in road courses, autocross, or “twisties”. I’d buy/build a Corvette if I did. I even pulled the big block bars and replaced them with 318 bars for better weight transfer. I also retained the 4 wheel drum brakes, as they provided more than adequate stopping power. Not only that, I’m also about to pull the 17/18” wheels off of it and go back to 15s.

As posted above. I have a stock box. PM me.

Found a stock box from a local guy here in AZ. I’ll be listing my firm feel box for sale if anybody is interested.

See how fast a Parts wanted thread can work. Your FF box sale thread can do the same after you get it swapped out and you are ready to sell.

If it's a Saginaw style pump this is for a ford but same idea.

I put in a new Borgeson pump with Lares 11033 steering box. The pump was putting out 1300 psi and I had to use this kit to lower it to 1100 psi. It's a pretty good kit.
