What other Car projects that are non Mopar does anyone have going on right now?

I got most of the floor mat made for the F1. The owner found the material on a site called hayneedle.com. Its a recycled rubber in 4' widths by various lengths and it has a pebbled texture thats pretty darn close to what my 73 Duster came with. Inexpensive too. Bob, truck owner, dropped the seat off so thats in now. Looks friggin neat! Need a little more mat material of I can cover the firewall. The upholsterer he used gave him some interesting info on the seat frame. He likes to get them powder coated, after repairs but before covering, as he said this takes care of squeaks/groans from the frame and springs. Getting closer now. Once I'm done with this, I'm out and retired.

My 84 year old friend and neighbor wanted me to have HIS fathers 59 Biscayne which has been sitting in Colorado for 40 years . Well DUH.... Road Trip!! Car is Unbelievable COMPLETELY rust free, and Remarkably Intact . Everything free and in working order. So far evaluation needs , shows new fluids , the brake hydraulics, a fresh tune,and fuel. So far, just cleaned her up,inside and out, and buffed up the original laquer. 235 thrift six, 3 on the tree..... radio delete total cheapo Survivor ! Never thought I would own a Chebbie. But the price was right! I had to Rescue this Orphan. couldn't let it slip away. Don't worry, Mopar is still numero uno in my world!

They all can't be mopars, but they should be... built this when I worked in a garage with unlimited supply of small block chev four bolt mains and steel crank. Started life as an orange, six cylinder. Every nut and bolt removed from car.

Posting here at the risk of thread necro, but a quick search didn't yield any other non-mopar car threads.

1994 Mazda Rx-7. Picked this car up a few weeks ago. I've always loved the styling, I think they're still one of the most beautiful Japanese cars of the last 50 years. I find the rotary engine to be very cool. Effortless RPM. Makes all the right hotboi turbo noises and will kick you in the pants above 4500 RPM (redline is 8500).

Rather unmolested except for the single-turbo conversion, which is a pretty common swap due to the complexity of the original twin turbo setup. Clean body, no rust, no accidents. Paint was redone somewhat recently but it's not perfect.

Needs some basic cleanup work and either the tune is off or the fuel pump is weak. It leans out under boost at higher RPM. I don't love the wheels, so that's probably on the list as well. The interior plastics are typical 90s quality, so will need to overnight parts from Japan.

This winter I’d like to install a set of tubular control arms on my ’58. If I go with QA1 I’ll have to go with coil over shocks too, it’s a’75 Nova front suspension so there’s tons of options.

Well, this is occupying pretty much all of my time right now. Busted my butt and went from a shell with no engine trans or frt suspension to a running car in 2 weeks. Was trying to make it to RoadKill nights, but didn't make it, had all 8 inj stuck shut due to letting them sit on a shelf with E85 in them.
Today I was installing the flex fuel sensor and bent up the dome sense line.

When I met my wife, I had a '70 Gold Duster with a rebuilt /6. After the marriage, I did a bunch of upgrades to the car. I'm a fuel economy guy, have been since 1991 when I started tinkering with it. I got that sucker to a best of 92 MPG on a custom fuel delivery system that only I could drive -- and it was a bi+ch to drive, even for me. I did 2 other custom "Nay Boxes" that gave me around 60 MPG, but again problematic as all get-out. I settled on a product called the Power Plate that gave me consistent 40+ MPG normal driving.

This was a test bed of sorts for much of my early research. Over the years I played with many other vehicles -- most of which I didn't own -- in my quest for better performance and fuel efficiency. I did some minimal head porting experiments with my '73 Road Runner when I swapped the 400 for a mild 440 I built.

I'm still chasing performance while tied to improved fuel efficiency. My current work horse is technically a Mopar -- a 1995 Jeep Grand Cherokee.

Bought it out of Missouri for $800. I then did a bunch of what anyone would do with a 30 year old vehicle; replaced much of the suspension, refurbished the interior using a parts vehicle, cleaned the sucker (green stuff growing on it from sitting), etc. Here is where the good stuff starts. I had built a 4.6 stroker that uses a 4.0 block and AMC 258 crank. I used a 2004 TUPY head (which I did massive porting on), a Comp Cams "Rock Crawler" cam, and ended up with a 10.2:1 CR beast. My engine build can be found here.

I created the MPGenie.com web site which outlines numerous things that can be done to a vehicle to improve performance & fuel efficiency. I started adding MPGenie things one after another. With the exception of replacing the factory distributor with GM LS individual coils, everything I've done to it is part of the MPGenie Program. (Of course going from a distributor with single coil to 6 individual coils required a stand-alone ECU. I'm using the rusEFI.com UAEFI.) I'm currently getting around 24 MPG (up from the stock 15.x), which is around a 60% increase. Power is WAY better than the stock 4.0. Oh, and it runs on the cheapest 87 octane fuel. 1969 Jeep CJ5 with a Buick 225 V6. Currently in the middle of swapping on a fiberglass tub and fenders and fixing the brakes. I only use it for plowing my driveway and it has not had any brakes for the last 10 years.

Here is what it looks like as of yesterday. Body all off, cleaning frame up to paint it and fixing the brakes.

I ended up getting UMI tubular control arms, they are USA made and allowed me to reuse the coil springs vs. having to buy coil overs. I also bought their front sway bar because the original GM bar was tweaked. While it was apart I replaced inner and outer tie rod ends and upgraded to QA1 billet steel adjusting sleeves.

Once the suspension was done, I pulled the valve covers to paint the as cast portion between the ribs and give them a good polish. The truck was “done” 6 years ago so I pulled the aluminum water pump and chrome brackets off to do a deep clean and polish. I also made a new hard line from the pump to the carb and new trans cooler lines, installed a new trans cooler and fabbed a splash shield to fully seal the radiator to the grille opening.

While the cooling system was empty I took the radiator out to flush out the dead bugs and detritus clogging the fins. It was pretty disgusting. Before putting it back in place I spent a few hours polishing the tanks and catch can.

Friday I wired in a USB port, replaced the incandescent bulbs in the gauges with LED’s and deep cleaned the interior. Tomorrow I’ll pull apart the drivers side door to figure out why the window no longer goes up and down smoothly. The list of minor repairs and improvements is getting shorter, Minnesota winters are pretty long so I’ll just keep chipping away until everything is done. By spring it should be standing tall and ready for another season of cruising…

got this g body I'm working on changing the door hinges, what a project. Cant get the door off on the passenger side because of a remote mirror cable thats bolted to the back of the firewall under the underdash componets etc. so took the fenders off to access them from the front also hood in bolted to the fenders so thats off too. 1986 Buick grnd National thing runs great and pretty low miles 72000.
