Here in La Paz, Mexico along the boardwalk I see Burger King and Applebee's have both called it quits. Applebees is now a Sushi place (no thanks) and Burger King is vacant.

Several Burger kings have closed, an Amato’s pizza and sub shop, several other smaller restaurants. Early on the small ones couldn’t handle the curbside service and now it continues mostly because they can’t find people to work.

I don't consider those fast food joints "restaurant", but the real tragedy in my area is the closure of small, family-owned ethnic restaurants. Right off the top of my head, two Italian, a Polish, and a Thai restuarant have closed nearby, amongst others. All with GREAT food that reflected the great ethnic cultures. Fortunately, one of my favorite Portuguese restaurants survived.

We had a great Korean place that had just opened, then Covid hit and they shut before they really got going. Now there’s an amazing Vietnamese place there. The soup is addictive. I’m eating it as I write this. All othe4 restaurants in town took hard hits just because they can’t find staff.

They had on our news the other day, that New Mexico lost a little over 40% of its local business', not just restuarants. They also had on there that the ones that are left can't find people to come in and work. When they do come in and get hired, they ask if its OK to start in September!

None yet, that I know of anyway
we don't have a lot, a few fast food joints have moved
into new even bigger places

some of the sit-down places/family ran, have struggled thru
the Chinese Wuhan Flu plandemic/SARS Covid BS
loyal customers kept them going with takeout
for the 1st 6+ months back in 2020
of the State/Govt. Chinese Wuhan Flu lockdown crap

I'm 12 or so miles from the nearest town too
I do most my own cooking

we've really been back to normal for well over a year
not much mask BS here

Gosh I don't even know what has done so here in Reno NV. Maybe it's because I tend to dine in here at home making tasty meals myself rather than spend on the outside fast food and restaurant joints. Saves on $$$ also...cr8crshr/Bill:usflag::usflag::usflag:

Don't know of any in my local.....all the ones that I used to frequent are still up and running. A couple started closing on Mondays since Monday is usually a slow day but they are all up and going at least 6 days a week again. Used to go out to eat about twice a week then once a week and here lately, it's once every two weeks. I do get tired of my own cooking and don't like to cook either....

burger king can only survive in the hood
The burger king closest to me in Cali closed a long time ago, they were literally next to an in-n-out, who killed them. Nearest is now five miles away, which is HUGE in so cal.
My local arizona BK is doing great, but the food is better than the cali version. (And in-n-out is 20 miles away).

Good for In-&-out!

We had a Hardee's in town. They closed, really hard to stay open when you only have 3 people to work. Took my wife and daughter to Olive Garden (not my choice). They were so under staffed that they could only service 30% capacity, plus they were out of half of the menu options.

Big chains are holding on fine here !
It's the mom and pops that are hurting! I already didn't go to the big names always support the mom and pop people! Food is always better anyways!
My favorite, salt and sweet polish!
Is doing great I started getting my car club to go small every month we would rotate a place to eat I've found most love this place too !

There's a Spanish place, la estancia owner is selling it to someone hopefully it stays same great food and continues to survive

The Italian places I like are all doing good one more then rest one might be gearing up to close though I tried talking owner into hosting a car show at lunch time to get people to try there food he said insurance won't let him!

I try to keep the money here but sadly people are stupid and won't try something new!

The German place is gone ,

The BK in my area has a hiring sign with a $3 Hr. hiring bonus on it, I wonder how that works?

When dine in was closed a drive thru became worth it's weight in gold. Drive thrus here are busier then they ever were before Covid.
I'm surprised to hear about that Manny's El Loco because I think they had a drive thru but it's been many years since I was in that area.

Lost the Applebee's here in Bel Air MD.
