What size tires are people running on 66-67 wagons?

I have 15 x 7 cop car wheels with P235 60 tires. I like the look but the rears are a bit of a pita sneaking them between fender and brake drum. Thinking about going with P215 65 tires next time. Just wondering what others are running?

I currently run P235 70 tires on the rear of my '67 R/T. They are a little narrower and taller than your tires. I used to have P255 60 tires on the rear of a 1967 Coronet wagon, but I custom made a pair of 15X8 police wheels with proper BS to accommodate them. These '66 and '67 B-bodies have the most constrictive wheel wells of any B-body car. You really have to get the a$$ end of the car up in the air, and let the rear end hang on the springs, to get the rear tires off easily.
Myself, I would keep the bigger tires, for the look, and chance not having to change rear tires too often. Invest in an AAA card, and let them do any tire changes. Good insurance for driving an old car! I have used my CAA card for a couple of flatbed rides when my oldies have broken down far from home.

I'm running 235/70-15 on the front and 255/70-15 on the back. Not much clearance on the front to the fender corner. Going to re-asses that after I go through the suspension and steering components. May have to go 60 profile on the front. The rears were a pain as you could imagine slipping them in place. Unhooking the shocks helped some. I think they'll need to be de-flated for the next go around. I like how both fill in the openings though. Putting new springs on the back too soon. I may look at wedging something between the tire and the lip to help curl them in a bit so I don't catch the edges as much.

If you are changing springs you can add a 1/2 inch spacer between the front spring hanger and the body, which will give you more clearance at the front fender corner.
I did that on my A body, and there was enough engagement on the slip yoke that it wasn't a problem.

I've got a pair of new XHD units with an additional 2.5" arch for the back. Not sure if I'll need blocks if it yields too much stink bug. Deal with that after they're in. Front is getting a pair of 1.06" FF t-bars. There will be fresh bushings, joints, arms, rods etc going there too at that time. Right now there is about 1/2" clearance/airgap on the lower control arm bumper at current ride height.
