Where did you and your car go today

I took my '67 R/T for its first spring drive on Sunday. It was a beautiful sunny 65 degree day in southwestern Ontario. This was a 175 mile round trip from near Aylmer to near Hamilton to a swap meet. I had cross-threaded one of my chrome lug nuts, and had to break the stud to get my wheel off. I had replaced the stud, but had no luck finding a 2" long chrome nut, so I hoped to find one there. There was a vendor there selling all kinds of nuts, and I found the only 1/2-20 X 2" one he had. Success! I also picked up a Franklin Mint 1957 Studebaker Golden Hawk for my model collection. After refilling the tank, I calculated that Ol' Yaller knocked down a solid 15 mpg. (Can), some of it at 70 mph. I could have taken my 2020 Grand Cherokee at 30 mpg., but how much fun would that be? It's all about SMILES per gallon (spg).

When I was in high school a couple hundred years ago, I parked my 69 Chevelle SS in my mom's driveway with the pipes pointed at the houses across the street. I would queue up Ridin' the Storm Out by REO Speedwagon on my 8-track player with a 15watt equalizer and 20 watt powered 6x9 rear speakers every night. I would start the car, then pop in the tape for the full-volume synthesizer intro as the engine warmed up. Years later I learned that the lady who lived on the next street over, behind the houses across the street from me would wake up to the sound of my car starting every morning. Apparently, if I was late for school, she was late for work. So you might be performing a public service @Cheapsunglasses . Keep up the good work!

That sounds like a great day!! I'd drive mine everywhere, but if it disappeared from the parking lot, that would mean I'd be walking. I only walk for pleasure. If my car disappeared tomorrow, I'd be driving me a 66 Dart, 273, 4 speed.

Sounds like the swap meet was more successful than the one I attended at the end of March. It was drizzling rain and 25% of the inside vendors and 50% of the outside vendors never showed up.

Took the Plymouth over to my friends and we put new tires on it.
Rides and drives super smooth.
But I couldn't believe the bugs I picked up in 20 minutes of driving I spent at least 15 minutes cleaning them off.

Sounds like the swap meet was more successful than the one I attended at the end of March. It was drizzling rain and 25% of the inside vendors and 50% of the outside vendors never showed up.

Lots of outside vendors. They could have put all the inside vendors in the bigger of the 2 halls.

Drove the wagon to Spring Fling 2025 in Van Nuys.

Busy day, vacuumed the house, took the wife for a drive in the Charger up to Litchfield to a daffodil farm, drove down to Bethany to Kritz farm to get ice cream, got back home at 2, threw down grass seed, then put down hay on top of the soaked grass seed and then watered down the hay, and then cleaned out the shed. 4 hrs of work and a nice hot shower.

I've been working on the X every chance I get. Mostly short test drives around the house until my confidence in her gets higher. Kind of a work on it, test drive, work on it, test drive......I've probably put a couple hundred miles on it so far.

It's starting to come around.

Turn up the volume.
