Though we all LOVE cars--or we wouldn't be frequenting this site--we spend the majority of "contact time" with our cars DRIVING THEM. That said, I've always appreciated a beautiful dashboard. And though I love my Mopars, some B-Bodies, in particular, had horribly designed dashboards. Some of my favorite dashboards were the mid-sixties Pontiacs (both full-size and GTO's) Oldsmobiles, tri-five Chevy's, and all of the 57-58 Mopars--especially the Chryslers and Imperials. Any comments on your favorites and why? Incidentally, the new Camaro is stunning until you sit inside--YUK!!!

ANY Imperial.

I did like my 66 Olds 98 dash.

70 Super Bee woodgrain rallye dash.

Mid 60's Fury and Chrysler...full of gizmos.

59 Pontiac.

Love or hate...70s "prism strip" firebird?

I like the 05 and up Mustang dash.

i like the dash on a 59-60 chevy impala and all the others you listed as well i agree our early b bodies as much as i love them the dashes and instrument clusters leave a lot to be desired but when you look at the whole car how beautiful they are you forget all about that small detail in my opinion.

I agree with the early Chryslers and Chevys. This car was at our weekly cruise..one-off Imperial custom built for one of the Chrysler execs. around '56-'57. The dash was a work of art!

Alot of the 1940's and 50's dashes were a real piece of art, some were almost spaceage as such and some more subdued.

1940 Mercury.

I must admitt, I do like the early B body dashes....Has anyone (Canadian guys maybe) seen a RHD 64 Polara dash.....as in a mirror image of the LHD version. I've got the butt ugly export dash in mine.

56 olds. I like my old 55-59 chevy truck dash better than the cars. J10s(alot like the machining on the late 70 TAs) ralley dash in my old 69 cuda

I always thought Packards had some pretty incredible dashboards. This one's a 55 Caribbean.

Beautiful Dashboards

Wow!!! Hit the site this morning and never realized how many others have similar passion for these beautiful dashboards. I was blown away by the pics of the 56-57 Imperial posted by BOBS66440 and have to agree with SUPERSTOCKRACER on the 65 Plymouths (I'm obviously biased). 7ATE9's pic of the Packard dash (all metal) and Redpolars's pic of the 40 Mercury just make me drool--I can't tell ya how entertaining it is for me to just STUDY these works of art. I agree with Redpolar's comment about late model plastic dashes not possessing the same appeal--it seems function and economics have overshadowed beauty. Lastly, does anyone have pics of the '60 Dodge dash with the rotating numbers that Jim68Cuda mentioned? All the best of life, Bob L.

Early to mid 60s T Bird.

How could I forget 66/67 Charger, how far ahead of it's time was EL technology????

As YY1 points out, the 66-67 Charger dash was unique to the Coronet dash (though both were B-Bodies in the same years). I'd love to see some pics.

I liked the -64 Ford Fairlane dash, looks great
If I wasnt a Mopar guy id have a fairlane or falcon
