In my line of work I always refer to it as drivers side/passenger side. Left side/right side is just confusing.

It shouldn't be confusing but people are idiots.
It is a crying shame that we have to continually "dumb down" everything so that lazy or ignorant people do not have to think. Society is getting LESS intelligent every year.
