Which solid state regulator for a single field?

I put the $16 one in my ‘68 Satellite 4 door 383. It still has points (easy to service on the Big Block), and a dual field alternator that I jumped one terminal to ground. I never checked the voltage though. The lights don’t seem too bright.
Over about 16 volts the headlights are real bright for a second or two.

Wells WVE 1V1067 is what I looked up. I think the old number is a V106.

I went through this a few years ago and have a box of various cheap solid state regulators reading 15 volts plus on my 66/67 cars. Finally bought a couple of mechanical regulators off of Halifaxhops and tweaked them to run about 14.2 volts max. If someone ever markets a decent solid state regulator that actually regulates, I may go back.

There is a adjustable on the back of one I never tried. I have a tester for them and they are all over the place from 8VDC to17VDC. Off the top of my head think the high limit is 15.3VDC. A bit high for me.

We need an adjustable one for earlier cars that are still running points. I know there is one out there but from memory it’s intended for track/race purposes.
