Who has experience with Dynamat, Hushmat, fat mat, etc

I'm guessing the Fat Mat is pretty much identical in construction/material as the rattletrap, being it's made by the same company. If so, there is no smell coming from the rattle trap I put in.

Good to know. My shipment is expected in Wednesday. Hopefully I'll have it back together by Friday so I can give a report.

there is a cool app. for the iphone that measures decibels. accurate enought for the local cops to use it for noise ordnance tickets.

I just finished the install on the floor. I ran it as far up the firewall as I could without taking the car apart. I put it on the floor under the rear seat bottom too. The area behind the rear side panels is a quirky situation. It has multiple recesses, holes and bolts in it. I just pieced several bits in there. It added density so my guess is that it should reduce some vibration if there was any coming from there. For the trunk divider panel, I covered the interior side with the Fat Mat and the trunk side got 40 oz jute padding glued to it. I'm sure that it will help. I still have to pull the door panels to get some on the door frames there. The speaker deck has 40 oz jute under the package tray from when I restored the car, so I didn't feel the need to pull it apart.
I'm sorta torn on what to do in the trunk. I'm tempted to lay some down directly under where the trunk mat fits. This would allow there to be some deadening while looking stock. I'd feel better about doing it if I knew that it would help. Does the mat provide much sound deadening on its own? If the interior has all the stuff I'm doing, will the additional Fat Mat in the trunk make any difference? Thanks, Greg

I don't think it maters in the trunk, I used a rubberized coating in the trunk after rust proofing it with rust bullet then used body color paint and went over all of it with that and then mat / carpet piece on top and at first glance when you open the trunk it looks stock. I also used under coating under the trunk around the tank. Unless your riding in the trunk I think you'll be ok lol

Wow...What a great upgrade! I took a 20 minute drive and really enjoyed it. I had the windows down so I can't say how much better it will be with them UP, but cruising around now, the car feels even MORE solid than before. The 4 speaker stereo sounded much clearer. The rough roads didn't produce any rattles. I'm going on a road trip from here to L.A next week, so that should be much nice3r that the last 2 times I drove the car. Thanks for the suggestions, guys.
