Although it looks like a bomber, this Heinkel He-219 was a pretty good night fighter with some advanced features; Germany's first tricycle landing gear and first fighter with ejection seats and Lichtenstein intercept radar. It was considered to be the only fighter (with propellers) that could hold its own against the British Mosquito. On it's first mission in 1943, the first He-219 shot down five bombers, but then crash landed itself.

Able to fly over 40,000 feet and speed up to 420 mph. its biggest drawback was the limited production - only around 300 were built.
